An important but difficult experience
We couldn't go to Cambodia and ignore their horrific history. Despite all this, we found these people to be extremely generous, grateful and gentle. I still can't believe, however, that this happened in my lifetime. I had no idea the extent of how crazy Pol Pot was and the amount of devastation he caused to his own people. One of the officers of his regime is on trial this week. I hope justice is done. Pol Pot got to die of old age....it just doesn't seem fair.
